Apple Macbooks
In recent years Apple have done a brilliant job of turning their company from a mediocre second-best to Microsoft into one of the most popular and trendy brands around. One of their many technological product ranges is the Apple Macbook and while they are expensive compared to other options they have many features and benefits that make up for this.
Apple was founded in 1976 in California and since then have been designing lots of different technological products. They have a reputation today as being a company that is ground breaking and innovative when it comes to their products such as the Macbook and the iPod. Apple has one of the most loyal fan bases of any technological company although there are also plenty of people who have strong negative opinions of the brand because of its high cost.
The Apple Macbook was first released in 2006 as a laptop to replace the Apple iBook and has gone under several redesigns and upgrades since then to keep it looking stylish and sleep. Because of its popularity it has quickly become the best selling Mac computer ever which is a testament to how the Apple brand has grown in the last few years.
Apple Macbook Pro Review (13 inch, 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM)
Apple has a reputation for all their products being well designed so it is no surprise that the same can be said about the Macbook Pro. However no matter how good it looks what people are really interested in is how well it performs and whether it can justify its high price tag.
Apart from the high quality build of the laptop some of the other positives are that you get a fantastic quality screen for viewing films and other media on and that they have a great battery life. For example the Pro will be able to idle for around 8 hours in some cases it you lower the screen brightness.
With Apple Macbooks in general though you do substitute some technological capabilities for good looks. The Macbook Pro that we looked at has a 2.2GHz Intel Core Duo processor as well as 2GB of RAM which is considerably less than you could get for a regular laptop at this price. The Macbook Pro also runs very hot if left on for a while and doesn’t come with the easiest or more comfortable keyboard you could find.
Apple Macbook Air Review (1.6GHz, 2GB RAM)
One of the newest products that Apple has release is the Macbook Air – a laptop which is described by some people as the iPod of computing. This might be a positive or negative comment depending on what you think of the iPod! Either way, there is no denying that the Air has a lot of great features and will also appeal to the mass consumer market.
First of all the negatives. The Macbook Air isn’t a particularly fast machine and considering the high cost of it this is a significant problem. While you can pay extra to get an upgraded processor and RAM you’ll be surprised by how much this costs. However many people aren’t buying the Air for its computing power but for its design and features.
One of the most advanced features of the Macbook Air is that it includes multi touch capabilities in a similar way to the iPod Touch and iPhone. For example if you rotate two fingers then your image will rotate. This is a nice feature but it isn’t supported by all software – for example Firefox doesn’t support it yet.
