Fujitsu are a Japanese company that are one of the largest IT providers across the world. They were established in 1935 so are one of the longest running technology companies around too. However this makes little or no difference to whether Fujitsu laptops are any good and whether you should consider buying one.
If you can find a high quality Fujitsu laptop then they usually have good performance and will last a long time. There are lots of Fujitsu laptops on the market and most of them will do their job well.
Unfortunately, Fujitsu laptops are known to be of a very low quality and frequently break much quicker than they should. If you do a quick search on the internet you will find many dissatisfied customers who have bought a Fujitsu laptop and found that their screen or other component has broken and they can’t get their money back as they are out of warranty. This is a shame because there are definitely some Fujitsu laptops that are of a good quality and worth having but there is no consistency so you are taking a big chance by getting one.
A common problem with Fujitsu is that the screen will go black because of a faulty cable within the laptop. You will sometimes be able to get this fixed if you are still within the warranty period.
Fujitsu Siemens Xa1526 Review
If you do decide to go for a Fujitsu laptop though the Xa 1526 would be a good choice. It is a desktop replacement laptop which means that it has a 17inch screen and has a high specification.
Unlike some desktop replacements the Xa1526 has great graphics capabilities which mean that if you are into playing games but want a laptop to do so it is a good option. It will also quite comfortably play movies so is a true desktop replacement.
The downside is that because of its high specification it has a very short batter life. It is also a large laptop, so you won’t want to be carrying this around while you are travelling for example. It is much too big to use on a plane seat, but if you are going to be using your laptop mainly at home and near a power socket then overall it is a good laptop.
Fujitsu LifeBook S7220 Review
If you are looking to buy a much more portable laptop but don’t want to get a netbook then the LifeBook S7220 is aimed at you. It is quite pricey coming in at over £1000, but if you want to be able to use CPU intensive applications while still retaining a level of portability then you will have to pay a bit more.
The good things about the S7220 are that it includes built in mobile broadband support which is very useful if you are travelling a lot. It also has a high quality webcam built into the chassis. While the looks won’t blow you away, it doesn’t look bad either.
However it is not really powerful enough to play modern games on it. While it is capable of doing everything that you will need to on a day to day basis it isn’t the most exciting laptop available. The touchpad is also very small which makes it more difficult to use than it should have been. However if you are looking for a portable laptop that has enough power and connectivity options for your work life then it is a good laptop.
